Sanjeep Maharjan practices blending the ancient-medieval aesthetics of Kathmandu Valley with fundamental forms in their effortless simplicity. His sculptures are a testimony to the movement and renewal of elements in nature. He finds his identity and his creative potent where the ornate traditional motifs intersect with the ubiquity of pure geometry. His artistic exploration extends to ceramics, painting, printmaking, three dimensional collage and installation.


Currently, Maharjan is the Assistant Professor for Sculpture at Kathmandu University, School of Arts, Department of Art and Design. He also teaches History of Art, dedicating his time to deeply understand and expand the knowledge of artistic evolutions from around the world. He also travels to different parts of Nepal as an art educator providing teachers’ trainings and art workshops to diverse communities.
